The length of time required for therapy varies by individual circumstances. Depending on the issue or goal, this can be achieved in a few sessions or it may take longer. However, our job is to enable you to live your best life without us. Most people see symptom improvement after a few sessions, but deeper work can take longer. It all depends on the individual. We invite you to talk to us openly and honestly about what your expectations are, and how you feel you are progressing through therapy.
Many extended health benefits plans do cover psychotherapy services. We bill you for your appointment, and you submit your detailed receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please consult with your health benefits provider to ensure coverage with a Psychotherapist. Our Mental Health services are considered a medical expense tax credit by Revenue Canada. Any fees not covered by your benefits plan can be claimed when you file your income tax return. We are able to direct bill for Telus eHealth, Pacific Blue Cross and Teleplan.

At Seeking Solace, we take your privacy seriously. All information shared in therapy sessions is confidential and will not be shared with anyone without your explicit consent. Confidentiality is considered a cornerstone of the profession of psychotherapy and is embedded in its core values.
The therapist will ask you a few brief questions about your past experience in therapy, what prompted you to reach out, and a bit about yourself. There will be an opportunity for you to ask questions about what to expect, what approach the therapist takes, or any logistics about the appointments. This is your chance to get a feel for the therapist and decide if you feel comfortable to continue to process.
We ask that you provide 24 hours notice for cancellations. Whenever possible, we try to offer reschedules based on your clinicians’ availability. Sessions cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, and no shows, are subject to the full fee being charged.
A Registered Psychotherapist (RP) can help you approach your situation in a new way, teach you new skills, help you gain different perspectives, and listen to you without judgment or expectations. The sessions are completely confidential.
